Strakka goes sub 3mins 30secs at Le Mans

Strakka Racing broke the 3 minute 30 second barrier with its Honda Performance Development ARX-03a during the second qualifying session for the Le Mans 24 Hours this evening, after a sensational 3:29.622 by Danny Watts.

The time was a full two seconds quicker than the team’s previous best (3:31.651), and strengthen its position as the fastest privateer petrol team in 7th overall.

Jonny Kane began the dry Quali 2 session with a faultless hour-long stint, before Danny and Nick Leventis shared the remaining hour.

The Michelin-shod HPD ARX-03a once again ran trouble-free, and is now being polished in time for tonight’s third and final two-hour qualifying session – which begins at 22.00 local time.
